Founded by Ferdinand Bright Joe Asmah, EDMUN emerged as a flagship initiative under Youth in Diplomacy and Community Development (YDCD); an initiative for youth empowerment and Community Development.
EDMUN began as a small initiative introducing young people to diplomacy and the workings of the United Nations. Our first conference, organized in 2023 with limited resources but a bold vision, attracted promising students and future leaders. We recorded delegates from six Universities/colleges and five countries. After the maiden edition, we continued engaging students across universities and high schools. What began as a modest simulation of the United Nations is now evolving into a global diplomatic force budding global leaders. We do not consider EDMUN a conference, rather a launchpad for aspiring diplomats and future changemakers. We are proud to see our previous delegates excelling in other youth conferences, winning awards and some being called to the Ghana Bar!
Our journey has not been an easy one. It has been characterized by challenges, resilience, innovation and growth. Our story is written in every delegate who speaks with deep conviction or dares to contribute to making the world a better place for all. Through Diplomacy, Network & Growth, EDMUN continues to shape the leaders of tomorrow while evolving into a Global Diplomatic Force!
